West Stormont Woodland Group (WSWG) was established to bring both Taymount Wood and Five Mile Wood, near Stanley in Perth & Kinross, into community ownership and save the woods from being sold by Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS) to private forestry companies. WSWG has successfully been granted a Community Asset Transfer Scheme (CATS) application by FLS in order to purchase Taymount Wood and efforts to fundraise for the purchase are under way.
