Terms of use

By using CharityCompare you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What CharityCompare is

CharityCompare is an independent information service. We publish Clarity Scores and facts drawn from official charity regulator filings and registers across the UK (England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland). We do not provide donation advice, financial advice, or crisis support.

CharityCompare is a trading name of Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17250017).

Accuracy and updates

We work to keep profiles accurate but cannot guarantee completeness or real-time register data. Verify important details on the official Charity Commission register. Report errors via our complaints process or [email protected].

Independent scores

Ratings are algorithmic summaries of public filings — not endorsements. Charities cannot pay for higher scores. We do not earn commission from donations made via outbound links.

Paid charity plans

Paid memberships (Supporter, Partner, Patron) provide presentation features and clearly-labelled advertising placement on charitycompare.org.uk. By purchasing a plan, the customer acknowledges that the services do not include, and payment does not purchase, any change to the Clarity Score, ranking position, or editorial content.

  • The charity warrants that content it supplies is accurate and not misleading, grants us a licence to display it, and accepts we may remove content that breaches this.
  • Plans are monthly rolling and can be cancelled anytime, effective at the end of the current period; annual plans receive a renewal reminder at least 14 days before renewal.
  • We offer a voluntary 14-day full-refund window from the start of a plan. All prices exclude VAT; payments are processed by Stripe.
  • We may end a plan and remove paid content, with a pro-rata refund, if the charity is removed from the UK charity register, enters insolvency, or becomes subject to a statutory inquiry.

Embeds and reuse

You may embed CharityCompare score widgets on your site using the code we provide on charity profiles. Embeds must link back to the full profile and must not be altered to misrepresent scores. We may change or withdraw embed formats with reasonable notice.

Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape the site in ways that impair service for others.
  • Do not misrepresent CharityCompare scores or imply we recommend specific donations.
  • Do not use automated means to bulk-download profile content for republication without permission.

Intellectual property

CharityCompare branding, methodology text, site design, the derived Clarity Scores and our compiled datasets are our intellectual property. Charity names and register data remain subject to their respective owners and licences — Charity Commission source data is reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Content supplied by a charity for its profile remains that charity's property and is displayed under licence.

Liability

CharityCompare is provided “as is” without warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for decisions you make based on site content.

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
