The principal objects of the Trust are to assist aged and infirm persons residing within the former Burgh of Stornoway to enable them to continue to reside in their own homes and avoid the necessity for their removal to a public or other institution, such assistance to be in addition to, and not in substitution for, any welfare service which is offered out of public funds.
