What the charity does
The charity was set up to fund the restoration of a historic garden and provide a cultural visitor attraction in Clackmannanshire. In doing so it has expanded to also provide educational and employment opportunities in a rural area. Our main activity brings visitors to the garden where they can learn about Cowden's rich history as well as as about Japanese gardening design and symbolism. Our Education and Outreach programme takes us into the community with school visits, educational talks and activities on site for various community groups .
