We have been providing an emotional, social and safety-net support service 365 days a year since 2000, and we never missed a call throughout the pandemic. Highly skilled, well-trained Telephone Befriending staff call out to vulnerable older people at a set time each day (average 3 times per week) and take time to build knowledge, trust, and a meaningful relationship. The relationships we’ve developed over 26 years promote good mental health and our safety-net alert service provides reassurance.
