What the charity does
The Maggie Law Maritime Museum preserves the maritime and social history of Gourdon and the surrounding area. Housed in the former coastguard apparatus shed overlooking the Gutty harbour, it became the home of the Maggie Law surfboat after the lifeboat station closed in 1969. Volunteers opened it as an unmanned museum in 1997. A 2011 Aberdeenshire Council grant, along with community support and sponsorship, enabled major improvements, and the museum opened fully in April 2013.
