A group of local Broomhouse residents volunteered to create a new group to manage the local Hall which was under threat from closure due to the collapse of the previous Hall committee. However, when applying for the licence to manage the Hall, it became apparent that a rival bid had been submitted by a local private nursery business who were granted the Licence by Glasgow City Council to operate the Hall and have done so ever since.
