**What is CharityCompare?** A free UK charity directory and rating site with Clarity Score ratings from Charity Commission data.

**Is it free?** Yes — free for donors, no commission on donations, scores cannot be bought. Funded by charity memberships, business services, and optional reader donations (/how-were-funded).

**How are charities rated?** 0–100 Clarity Score from four pillars in Charity Commission filings. Stars use a 5★ display mapping (≈20 points per star). See /methodology.
