# Is CharityCompare free to use?

**In short:** Yes — every rating, comparison, profile and search on CharityCompare is free for donors, with no account required. We take no commission on donations and no payment can change a score. The site is funded by optional charity memberships, business services and reader donations.

There is no paywall, no account requirement and no premium tier for donors. Every Clarity Score, beacon breakdown, five-year financial history, comparison and search is open to everyone.

We also take **no commission on donations**. When you click through to give, you go to the charity’s own donation page and the full amount goes to them.

The site is funded three ways: optional charity memberships (which add presentation features to a profile but never change a score), business data services, and voluntary reader donations. That separation is deliberate — see [how we’re funded](https://www.charitycompare.org.uk/how-were-funded).
