# How do I check a CCNI Northern Ireland charity number?

Northern Ireland charities are registered with the **Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI)**. Numbers often start with **NIC**.

- Copy the name or number from the appeal — not from a shortened payment link.

- Confirm status, registered name and what the charity is constituted to do.

- Donate via the charity’s official site.

The CCNI register is newer than England and Wales, so some organisations have a shorter published filing history.
